Non Shedding Cat Breeds

The reason most people want a non shedding cat breed is because they either don't have the time to spend on daily grooming (which you would have with a long haired cat) or they don't want to deal with cat hair on all their furniture and clothes.

There are several types of non shedding cat breeds . They are: Sphynx Cat, Don Sphynx, Devon Rex and Cornish Rex.

Sphynx Cat: This cat is typically very energetic and playful. Because of their peculiar appearance and playful behaviours, this cat is popular among cat lovers. This particular non shedding cat breed is hypoallergenic.

Devon Rex: This breed is medium sized with large ears. The Rex cat breeds are very playful and energetic. They are very sociable and like to be around people. You can snuggle this cat because it hardly has any fur that sheds.

Don Sphynx: This cat looks like the Sphynx cat breed but is not related at all. This breed is really hairless and the skin is wrinkled. This particular non shedding cat breed is native to Russia.

Cornish Rex: This breed of cat got it's name from Cornwall, where it orginated. They are extremely loveable and sociable. They have a silk like fur, are very intelligent and very popular with cat lovers.

Remember that non shedding cat breeds should be considered indoor cats because they can get sunburned or become uncomfortable in colder weather. It is important to keep them warm and comfortable so take that into consideration when you are making your decision on which type of cat will fit into your family.
