Dog crate training is actually one of the best things you can do for your pet - it gives him his own personal place that no one else invades. An advantage to crate training your dog is that if you have somewhere he can be confined when you are away, you do not have to worry about coming home and finding a mess. The key to successful crate training for a puppy or an older dog, as with other forms of dog training, is to establish a good routine - this routine will enhance the ability of the dog to do its business in the right place, and avoid eliminating in the wrong place.
