ActivitiesBelow is a link to a variety of activities you can do with your pet to keep them from getting bored.
Click Picture Above to Visit Dog-Play.com Here is an introduction to some great things people do with their dogs. Most activities welcome all dogs, whether purebred or of mixed breed heritage. Some of these activities are classed as "working dog" activities, but are also done on a recreational basis, or as a public service. Some are purely recreational in nature. Many of these activities may be new to you. I have chosen my links based upon how welcoming they are to the merely curious. Have fun with your dogs! Dog Birthday PartyGuestsGuest lists can be your immediate family, neighborhood dogs, training classmates, dog park buddies, or littermates. Know how many dogs you can handle. Some party facilities require a minimum of one human for every 2-3 dogs at the party. Try to pick guests about the same age, older dogs might not tolerant the antics of a young puppy.LocationYou must decide if you want to hold the dog birthday party at home or at a nearby pet friendly facility. If you have the party at home, the yard is a perfect place because messes of all kinds will happen and are easier to deal with in an outdoor environment. To create a safe place for the party, check to make sure fences are in good condition, gates close securely, easy access to the yard without going through the house and plenty of shade and fresh water are available during the party. Place pickup bags and large trash cans in the yard. Supply enough pickup bags for everyone. Leave the food indoors until it is time to eat. The safest way to serve cake to humans is to have everyone go inside, in view of the dogs playing in the yard. Remember not to share cake intended for humans with dogs; it's too rich, and may contain ingredients harmful to dogs. Place doggie goody bags or party favors in an indoor location out of reach of dogs who may come into the house. Hand them out to your guests as they are leaving the party. This will minimize competition for good-smelling treats inside. Some dogs, just like people, are allergice to certain foods. Check with the owners of the invited canine guests and ask if any of the dogs have certain food allergies or are on any food-restricted diets. Avoid serving those foods at your party. Bone appetite! DurationAn hour is an ideal amount of time for a dog birthday party. It provides plenty of time for exercise, without over stimulating those who are not accustomed to so much activity. In warm weather, limiting your party to an hour will also minimize the effects of heat on less-active or indoor dogs.Activities1. Have a site contest. The dog who stays in the sitting position longest, wins.2. Play "find the toy" by hiding a toy under a cup or blanket. 3. Have enough balls so there is at least one ball per doggy guest and play free-for-all fetch. 4. Swim! Fill a wading poole with water and let the dogs cool off. 5. Invite a portrait photographer to take natural, outdoor portraits of your dog. Or give each human guest a disposable camera to capture the special day.
